Job overview

We are looking for a Facilities Assistant - Catering, to join our Catering Team at the Lings Bar Hospiatl. Staff member to run our small catering outlet serving patients, staff and visitors.

The position is for 22.5 Hours per week 

This role will also be flexible to cover shifts in the catering kitchen and also as a House keeper working on the 3 ward's at Ling Bar serving patients food and beverages to patients

Main duties of the job

To assist in the day to day running of a small catering outlet based at  Ling Bar.  To ensure  high standards of customer service and catering services. The completion of all relevant paperwork in line with trust policies and procedures.

To support House Keepers and catering kitchen staff as and when required.

To ensure compliance with the Catering Food Safety Manual, Trust policies and procedures and to the Food Safety Act and Food Hygiene Regulations.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • An understanding of cleanliness and good hygiene practices
Desirable criteria
  • Recognised, support services qualification

Training

Essential criteria
  • Ability to undertake all mandatory training as required by the individual site
  • Ability to undertake any necessary skills and competency training required by the post

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of commitment to the equality and diversity principles
Desirable criteria
  • An ability to demonstrate an understanding to trust values
  • Knowledge and awareness of special diets and allergens
  • Basic understanding of infection control
  • Understanding of the responsibility relating to H&S at work and COSHH
