Job overview
The post-holder will provide mindfulness-based interventions to patients and staff within Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide MBCT courses, workshops and training to staff in NHC. This will also involve supporting staff to deliver MBCT to patients within their clinical services. The role will further include providing supervision to clinical staff
Please note that this post does not meet the pay or skill level required for a Skilled worker visa.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To provide specialised advice on Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and its provision across the Trust to promote safe and effective working practice. The post holder will lead, in collaboration with the Clinical Lead, on the development of strategy and operational delivery of MBCT within Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHC) to the workforce.
To work as an autonomous practitioner, and to coordinate the delivery of a programme of MBCT groups within the service, developing and monitoring clinical and staff wellbeing aspects of the service. This will entail processing referrals, screening individuals as to the suitability of MBCT, considering risk issues and tailoring advice according to their presentation under the clinical supervision of the Clinical Lead.
To support the development of a supervised MBCT training pathway for staff within the Trust: providing: training; supervision/mentorship; and assessing competency to adhere with national standards and guidelines.
To engage in audit, research and service evaluation initiatives to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of MBCT service provision.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

- A recognised qualification in one of the core mental health professions e.g. psychiatric nursing, clinical psychology, medicine, social work and occupational therapy or equivalent experience to work in the mental health field.
- MBCT training recognised as meeting Good Practice Guidelines by the British Association of Mindfulness-based Approaches (BAMBA)
