- Lead clinical care for Redwood 2, managing 16 beds (with rare flexibility up to 20)
- Provide senior medical leadership & supervision to junior doctors and trainees
- Engage in service development, business planning, and academic programmes
- Maintain compliance with GMC registration, Mental Health Act Section 12(2) approval, and professional codes

Main duties of the job
π Main Responsibilities
- β Manage, appraise, and provide clinical supervision to junior medical staff
- β Ensure compliance with New Deal and Working Time Directive for junior doctors
- β Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care
- β Accurately record and submit clinical activity data
- β Participate in service and business planning for the locality and wider mental health service
- β Engage in annual consultant appraisal and job plan review
- β Attend and contribute to the Trustβs academic programme and CPD activities
- β Maintain GMC registration, Section 12(2) approval, and professional standards
- β Collaborate with managers and colleagues to ensure efficient service delivery
- β Support financial planning and management within the service
- β Deliver high-quality, evidence-based senior medical care in acute and locked rehabilitation settings
- β Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide person-centred care
- β Foster therapeutic relationships with patients and carers

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- MRCPsych OR MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Desirable criteria
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
- Additional clinical qualifications.
Eligibility
Essential criteria
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
- Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment
Desirable criteria
- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
