Job overview
The Mental Health Support Team is expanding as part of the National commitment to reach 100% coverage with schools by 2030. Established in 2019, our MHST is embedded across each district across the County
This new leadership role will support expansion and be part of the established leadership team.
A full UK driving license and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
Main duties of the job
Provide leadership within an agreed National model of delivery
Recruit support and manage teams.
Work as part of an multi-display team
Liaise with Schools, Educational Psychology, Commissioner and wider system partners
Be part of the established MHST leadership team and wider Specialist and Community CAMH service

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To lead and manage the day-to-day operations and performance of the CAMHS Mental Health Support Team to enhance the mental and emotional well-being of children and young people within Nottinghamshire.
Working in collaboration with the senior CAMHS leadership team, the post holder will be responsible for the leadership and management of teams, driving towards improved mental health outcomes for children and young people. The post holder will provide and oversee managerial supervision and support to the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high quality and safe patient centred care.
The post holder will develop innovative new ways of working with other providers to enhance improved working practices and relationships across healthcare in order to meet strategic objectives, organisational requirements and evidence based practice developments with a focus upon children and young people’s mental health provision.
The post holder will need to have excellent managerial and leadership skills with a good understanding of the clinical needs of children and young people requiring mental health support.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

- Have a significant amount of relevant clinical experience/understanding across the breadth of presentations within Community CAMHS, MHST or relevant clinical delivery area.

- Experience of caseload management, including working with clients with a wide range of mental health difficulties. Experience of leading service change and service development.
- Experience of developing and delivering training packages regarding mental health and risk.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of and experience of working within Child, Adolescent and/or Adult Mental Health service with patients experiencing significant Mental Health difficulties
- Knowledge of CYPIAPT Principles and ability to embed them within the service.
- Experience of working in/ leading MHST’s.
- Experience and skills in Clinical audit, research and evidence-based practices.
- Experience of the clinical and operational functions of specialist child and adolescent mental health services, working in partnership with Acute hospitals and other health, education and social care providers.
