Therapy Support Worker - Childrens Therapy

Do you have a passion for helping children with physical disabilities and complex needs? If yes, we are looking for someone to join our Physiotherapy team.

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and dedicated Therapy Support Worker with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and delegate according to patient and service need. You will be a key player within the Nottinghamshire Therapy Team and be responsible for supporting our Physiotherapists and within a multi-disciplinary team; supporting them in undertaking routine assessments and interventions in accordance with the goal setting process.

To liaise closely with the therapists, support workers,  and health and social care professionals. In addition you will act as liaison with patients, families and/or carers and therefore require excellent communication skills.

To assist and support therapists as part of the integrated team to deliver agreed programmes of intervention at a variety of locations to meet the needs of the children presenting with short and long-term disability / needs

The post holder will work alongside therapists and independently carry out agreed programmes of care.

The post holder will have an administrative role including equipment organisation and ordering, diary management, and creating therapy programmes.

Applicants should have a minimum of NVQ 3 in Care or Teaching assistant L3 or equivalent and have experience working with children and young people.

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
