The Mental Health Care Group of Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation Trust comprises of three care units; Adult Mental Health, Mental Health Services for Older People and Specialist Services. Main duties of the job
Nottinghamshire Perinatal Mental Health Team is a multidisciplinary and well-established service providing a tailored approaches to meet the mental health needs of women and their families in the perinatal period. You will have opportunity for direct one to one, and group based therapeutic work with women experiencing a wide range of mental health problems, often relating to complex trauma or attachment difficulties. The service is also seeking to develop psychological interventions across multiple pathways, and you will be invited to contribute to innovative service development.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Perinatal Mental Health Services in Nottinghamshire is expanding. We are keen to recruit Clinical Psychologists or Therapists who are passionate about the emotional wellbeing of women in the perinatal period and their infants.
You will have opportunity to undertake initial assessments and direct one to one and group based therapeutic work with women experiencing a wide range of mental health problems, often relating to complex trauma or attachment difficulties. You will also have opportunity for indirect working, offering supervision, consultation and training to both colleagues within the MDT, and the wider maternity system. The service is also seeking to develop psychological interventions across multiple pathways within and between services, and so you will be invited to contribute to innovative service design and improvement.

- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the Health Professions Council
- Experience of working with women and their families who have a range of complex mental health difficulties
- Experience of risk assessment and risk management which inform clinically competent assessments including mental state, risk and the development of a formulation of difficulties/problems.
- Experience of MDT work and effectively working within other disciplines.
- Experience of providing evidence-based interventions for users of the service.
- Experience of working systemically within a mental health setting and experience of multi-disciplinary and agency working including health and social care
- Experience of providing clinical supervision in relation to complex cases to junior staff and peers.
- Demonstrates experience of providing care that is sensitive to the needs of minority groups.

- Experience of work with adults with complex mental health problems
- Experience of working with people with trauma, loss and grief.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Understanding and working knowledge of mental health and/or perinatal mental health.
- Knowledge of current Mental Health policy and Legislation.
- Knowledge and experience of Safeguarding Adults and Children practice
- Knowledge of policy drivers for mental health and perinatal mental health.
- Working knowledge and experience of the provision of therapeutic approaches and interventions with women associated with loss and/or trauma.
- Very high level of interpersonal and communication skills enabling written and oral presentation and receipt of complex and sensitive information, to facilitate acceptance and relate effectively in an emotive and hostile environment
- Specialist assessment and therapeutic skills with a broad range of adult mental health problems.

Qualifications

- A higher therapy qualification (Masters or Doctorate) that allows the practitioner to register with the HCPC (Art Therapist, CBT Therapist, Psychologist, Mother and Infant Psychotherapist)
