Job overview

The Facilities Services team at Rampton Hospital are looking for a number Facilities Assistants that will undertake a driving role to join our bank team. 

These positions are on an 'as and when' required basis, with possible shifts at any time on any day.

No previous experience is required but all applicants must be over 21 years of age and have held a full British Driving Licence for a minimum of 12 months, allowing you to drive in the UK with 6 points or less on your licence which will be subject to a DVLA check.   Prior to being offered a position you will be expected to complete a  Fitness to Drive Medical arranged by the Trust. You will receive a comprehensive induction and training programme before driving any Trust vehicles.

 

Main duties of the job

Supporting the Transport Department in the transportation of patients and staff to various other destinations away from the Rampton Hospital site.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Facilities Assistant - Bank Driver must be capable of working on their own initiative, re-planning and adjusting routes as required in the event of changing conditions in order to be able to meet deadlines and timescales.

Liaising with the Facilities Supervisor and the Rampton Hospital Control Room during the shift as necessary.

Complete daily vehicle log sheets, routine safety checking of the vehicle and any other administration documents, reporting any issues to the Facilities Supervisor.

To work within all Policies and Procedures at all times.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay or skill level required for a Skilled worker visa.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary / skill level is below the minimum required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
