Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for motivated individuals to join our busy Facilities Team at Wathwood Hospital working as a porter within the Facilities Department.
Previous experience of working as a Porter in a Hospital environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
Main duties of the job
Working across the hospital for any requirements including transporting, delivering and collecting hospital equipment, furniture, stationary, provisions, pharmacy. Safe movement of linen to wards and departments. Management and rotation of stock. Locking/unlocking gates for deliveries.
Core hours are Monday and Friday 7.30am-2pm and 11.30am-6pm, including bank holidays.

Ensuring task schedules, method statements and procedures within the area of work are followed and that a high quality service is maintained.
Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

Contractual requirements
Essential criteria
