Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Photographer to join our Clinical Illustration Service at King’s Mill Hospital. We are expanding to meet the evolving needs of our patients and clinicians, and we’re looking for a talented, motivated individual to become part of our growing team.
About the Role:
Medical Photography services are required across four sites:

Ashfield Health Village

Mansfield Community Hospital
This varied and rewarding role involves working across a range of clinical specialities, including (but not limited to):

Dermatology and Teledermatology

Wound photography
-
Theatre photography

Ophthalmology imaging

Studio photography

PR and promotional photography
You’ll be contributing to high‑quality patient care by producing accurate, consistent, and clinically valuable images.
This is a part‑time position, offering flexibility while allowing you to contribute meaningfully to a vital clinical service.

Criteria
Essential criteria
- Post graduate certificate in clinical photography or equivalent experience
- A high level of photographic ability
- An imaginative, innovative and creative mind
- Excellent standard of appearance and presentation to reflect the high-profile nature of this role
- Ability to work with all professions throughout the Trust and with colleagues in partner organisations involved in the management or provision of health and social care services
- Experience in using a professional photographic studio
- Experience of interacting with patients and their families/carers in an acute setting
- Experience of working in photography within a hospital/clinical environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use initiative, organise self and service workload
- Skills in effective team working
Desirable criteria
- Have professional membership with the Institute of Medical Illustrators (IMI)
- Basic telephone and computer skills, including Word, plus experience with specific software packages such as Adobe Photoshop
- Competence in using specialist clinical photography cameras for example OCT, Fundus camera and dermoscopic cameras
- Understanding of legislation pertaining to consent, data protection and copyright etc
- Proactive to take on new responsibilities and have the confidence to work alone on projects or to work as part of the wider team
