Job overview

Ward 31 at King’s Mill Hospital is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Housekeeper to join our dynamic and busy team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients and staff alike.

Ward 31 is a 24-bed ward comprising 3 bays and 12 en-suite rooms. Our team is made up of a highly skilled and supportive Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) that is committed to delivering patient-centred care.

  • Flexible (post may require some shift working including the occasional evening/weekend or bank holiday) Punctual

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Good communication skills with the ability to negotiate
  • Time management skills and the ability to withstand pressure
  • Ability to set up and maintain systems
  • Positive role model for patients and staff

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to a good standard of general education equivalent to GCSE Maths and English Level C or above
Desirable criteria
  • Basic Food Hygiene

Training

Essential criteria
  • Basic Health and Safety awareness
  • Customer Care Training/Awareness
Desirable criteria
  • Any training pertaining to the post

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of dealing with and working alongside a wide range of people
  • An ability to demonstrate practical and organisational skills
  • Experience of working within a team
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience in NHS and/or other care settings
