Job overview
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our Surgical Operations Team, specialising in Theatres and Anaesthesia at Kings Mill Hospital.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to play an integral part in one of our most critical and fast-paced clinical areas. With a focus on service excellence, people leadership, and operational efficiency, you’ll contribute directly to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
As part of this role, you’ll hold direct line management responsibility for the Anaesthetic Secretarial staff and the anaesthetic pre-procedure clinic (PPC) support, fostering a culture of collaboration, development, and continuous improvement. You’ll also work closely with the Operations Support Office, providing key support to the Operations Manager and Speciality General Manager, helping to plan and implement service developments and streamline day-to-day processes.
This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday), with work hours falling between 8am and 5pm. Flexibility is offered in scheduling (e.g. 8:00–4:00 / 8:30–4:30 / 9:00–5:00), along with the potential for 1 day of remote work per week once your induction period has been completed.
If you're someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, brings a passion for operational excellence, and wants to play a part in supporting the clinical teams behind vital surgical and anaesthetic services—we want to hear from you.

Working for our organisation
We are an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust working alongside health and social care colleagues across the county to provide acute and community healthcare services to more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.
We put the patient at the heart of everything that we do and it is our aim to make sure that every patient is treated as we would want a member of our own family to be treated. At the same time, we expect our staff to be caring, kind and courteous to each other and to look out for each other. We believe that we are truly a clinically-led organisation.
We are proud that our Trust colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven years running in the National NHS Staff Survey, while the Care Quality Commission has rated our Trust as ‘outstanding’ for care and our King’s Mill Hospital as the only ‘outstanding’ NHS-run hospital in the East Midlands.
