Join Our Team at King's Mill Hospital!

Are you looking for a rewarding opportunity in the healthcare field? King's Mill Hospital's Trauma & Orthopaedics Department are seeking a dedicated Clinical Typist to join our dynamic team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high standard of support to the King's Mill and Newark Hospital patient pathway
  • Audio typing of clinical letters, operation notes and discharge summaries as directed by the Patient Pathway Co-ordinator
  • Prompt tracking in and out of case notes using the PAS system to maintain accuracy and completeness of all electronic records
  •  Deal with telephone enquiries from patients, relatives, clinicians and other members of Trust

The work is fast-paced and challenging but very rewarding. Your experienced colleagues will provide you with a robust training programme that will help you build the skills, knowledge and confidence that you need to become a successful Clinical Typist.

Knowledge Requirements

Essential criteria
  • Computer literate with excellent keyboard skills
Desirable criteria
  • Medical terminology
  • Working knowledge of PAS and the NHS in general

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good general education including English GCSE at grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • RSA II (or equivalent)
Desirable criteria
  • European Computer Driving Licence
  • NVQ Level II Admin

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within an office environment
  • Quality Customer Service
Desirable criteria
  • NHS experience

Contractual Requirements

  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
