Knowledge Requirements

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrates current knowledge of professional and national nursing priorities and agenda
  • Good understanding of NHS policy and reforms around health and social care
  • Demonstrates current knowledge of NHS economic environment commercial challenges and opportunities faced by an NHS Foundation Trust
  • Is able to demonstrate awareness and understanding of contemporary professional and educational nursing issues and NHS Policy issues
  • A broad understanding of the network of healthcare provision
Desirable criteria
  • General Management Experience within an acute provider
  • Able to articulate the new NHS system and strategic direction

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered General Nurse (First Level)
  • Evidence of study at Degree/Master’s level or equivalent
  • Management qualification
  • Teaching Qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Coaching qualification
  • Master’s degree or postgraduate diploma

  • Demonstrates experience of negotiating and presenting cohesive solutions to complex issues

  • Proven track record as a leader, and professional role model
  • Clinical Governance, complaints handling and clinical risk management experience
