Job overview

We are recruiting for an Estates Manager to join our team at the Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury. 

You'll manage a small internal maintenance team and external contractors and ensure that the buildings are maintained in a safe condition and that deadlines are met. You'll also be responsible for effective internal and external communication, the delivery of all operational Estate’s services and ensure that the estate is effectively managed and safe.

We are looking for someone with strong communication skills and be able establish and nurture effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Your role will support the strong and visionary leadership of the departmental team and focus on delivering efficient and timely service, assess the performance of team members and attend regular training sessions and deliver training sessions to the workforce on key health and safety issues.

Main duties of the job

Key duties include:

  • Ensure that reactive maintenance works are undertaken to a safe, high quality and a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the maintenance budget within their hub ensuring works carried out in a cost effective way, following SFI’s and within allocated budget.
  • Ensure that remedial works identified by ppm/compliance/mandatory checks and tests are undertaken to a suitable standard and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that the Trust’s workforce have sufficient training to fulfil the roles and responsibilities required of them.
  • Collection and recording of quality data to ensure that the departments performance reporting is 
    accurate and to a good quality. 
  • Undertaking of regular audits and reviews to ensure that the estate is maintained in a safe and 
    suitable condition, and issues and risks are identified.

Essential criteria
  • Degree/HNC in either a building related subject, electrical, mechanical or building services related subject or equivalent experience.
Desirable criteria
  • Detailed knowledge of HTM requirements in relation to estate management

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of managing staff and leading a team
  • Significant relevant experience as a senior manager within an estate and facilities department or similar environment

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Good knowledge of HTM documentation and processes
  • Good knowledge of the analysis and preparation of risk assessments and method statements
  • Confident in using HR systems, Seeker, Opuz, and other systems
