Are you an in individual experienced in working in mental health, seeking a new challenge?
We are currently seeking a Senior Mental Health Practitioner / Duty Lead to join our service! This is varied role with a degree of autonomy, participating in direct evidenced based patient care. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing professional and clinical support in the care of patients and getting involved in a varied role, with a range of responsibilities as well as liaising with a range of different people, internally and externally.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified RMN with experience working in community mental health in who is looking for the next step in their career!
The post holder will be required to work at the base Monday – Friday 9-5pm
Main duties of the job
The post holder will take a lead role in the day-to-day management of the AMHT Duty function, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure timely triage, assessment, planning and implementation of intervention specific to the needs of individual or groups of patients and their carers.
You will:
- Act as a clinical expert taking a lead role in advancing the development of clinical practice, providing evidence based holistic patient care within a variety of settings, inclusive of the patient’s residence and care settings within the community, from undertaking highly complex assessment of presenting condition through to diagnosis, treatment, and discharge, including the administration of medication within agreed clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Ensure safe and effective transfer of patients between services e.g. admission and discharge from inpatient admissions both within the Trust and beyond.
- Manage a small number of patients held under duty before onwards allocation to a care-coordinator/discharged/transferred from service.

- Relevant Professional Qualification (RMN)
- Evidence of continuing professional development

- To hold a professional/clinical qualification in psycho-social intervention (e.g. CBT, DBT, NMP)
Knowledge & Skills

- Specialist knowledge and clinical expertise in community mental health in line with professional requirements
- To have a developed understanding of Clinical Governance
- Demonstrate an advanced understanding of clinical risk assessment and management
Desirable criteria
- Providing clinical and or managerial supervision
Experience
Essential criteria
- Substantial experience of mental health care and working across different settings which must include experience within a community mental health setting
- Advanced knowledge of the range of presentations, diagnoses and current management options
Desirable criteria
- Experience in management and leadership within a healthcare setting

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
