Trosolwg o'r swydd

A new Physiotherapy Assistant post has been developed within the Community Learning Disability Service in Oxford Health.

It is an exciting opportunity to provide physiotherapy input in a community setting, for service users who have a learning disability. 

You will be supported by a senior physiotherapist in all aspects of your role and will have opportunity for learning and development. 

You will have options to work flexibly at a base in Banbury, Oxford or Abingdon or from your home. 

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

• Carrying out routine physiotherapy interventions and basic assessments following programmes set by the physiotherapist. This work will be with clients who have a range of complex disabilities and health needs.

• Recording all work completed with clients on clinical records and to share information with the supervising physiotherapist

• Carrying out informal assessments/observations and information gathering to contribute to the therapist’s holistic assessment.

• Implement client specific physiotherapy recommendations and resources to other professionals and carers.

• Use IT effectively to extend physiotherapist's programmes/activities.

• Deliver physiotherapy interventions in a range of community settings, which may include day services and the patient’s own home.

• Undertake manual handling manoeuvres and carry out physical activities in a range of different environments, including on the floor, in a swimming pool and working at different bed heights.

• Driving around the county in potentially busy traffic

• To manage a prioritised and specified caseload with support from a physiotherapist.

• To provide direct feedback to parents/carers, other professionals and supervising physiotherapist on sessions carried out.

• To be physically able to safely undertake manual handling manoeuvres and carry out physical activities in a range of different environments, including on the floor, in a swimming pool and working at different bed heights.

• Regular commuting by car across Oxfordshire to a range of different community settings.

  • Relevant NVQ III/B Tech/ A-levels

  • Additional relevant training in learning disabilities and / or physiotherapy.
  • Demonstrates the ability to reflect on practice with peers/clinical supervisor.
