Job overview

12 month maternity leave cover.

The Oxford Cancer Centre offers an exciting opportunity to join a friendly, dynamic, team committed to delivering holistic, patient-centred radiotherapy care.

We are seeking a Therapeutic Radiographer with broad clinical experience and a strong understanding of advanced radiotherapy techniques. The successful candidate will be confident working autonomously, able to prioritise their workload, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of care and professionalism.

This role will be primarily based at the new OUH Radiotherapy satellite centre in Milton Keynes. However, the successful candidate will also be expected to spend time at the main site in Oxford to support their ongoing professional development and contribute to the work of the wider radiotherapy review team.

In addition, the postholder will be expected to support the Milton Keynes pre-treatment and treatment teams when required,

OUH Radiotherapy @ Milton Keynes opened in January 2025 as part of Oxford University Hospitals' commitment to improving local access to high-quality cancer care. The centre is equipped with a Siemens CT simulator and a Varian TrueBeam and infrastructure is already in place to grow the service in future.  Approximately 60% of radiotherapy patients from Milton Keynes are treated locally, with the remainder undergoing radiotherapy at the main site in Oxford for more complex treatments such as SRS.

Main duties of the job

In this patient-facing role, you will act as an expert resource for radiotherapy-specific information and support, helping patients navigate their treatment and access holistic care, including appropriate referrals to specialist services. You will also be responsible for conducting radiotherapy treatment reviews.

In addition to supporting radiotherapy patients at OUH radiotherapy @ Milton Keynes, you will play a key role in strengthening links between the Oxford Cancer Centre Radiotherapy Department and our external oncology clinics, including those at:

  • Milton Keynes University Hospital

  • Horton General Hospital, Banbury

  • Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury

  • Wycombe General Hospital, High Wycombe
