Join a team that’s shaping the future of our NHS estate

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a motivated and proactive Estates Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of a wide range of capital development projects — from minor refurbishments to major construction schemes.

You’ll be part of a Estates Capital Development team that “delivers both minor and major capital developments… providing professional, technical, high quality, cost-effective, informed and timely advice” .

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with project management experience who wants to develop their career in a supportive NHS environment.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the design, specification and management of capital projects “from inception to completion/final account”
  • Supporting the production of tender documents, building specifications, project programmes and statutory applications
  • Helping to carry out site surveys, inspections and condition assessments
  • Coordinating project meetings, taking minutes and supporting communication across teams
  • Maintaining project filing systems and updating the estates technical library
  • Supporting financial processes, including tender uploads and cost monitoring
  • Contributing to risk management, health & safety documentation and compliance
  • Working collaboratively with clinical, corporate and facilities teams across the Trust
  • This role is varied, hands-on and ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, teamwork and managing multiple priorities.

  • Knowledge and understanding of project management processes, structures and governance
  • Aware of business issues particularly within Estates, for example, risks/incidents, staffing issues/retention, finances, efficiencies

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of supporting all aspects of project management, risk management and operational management – performance report, risk register, incidents and learning from them sharing in newsletter, standing agenda item.
  • Excellent experience of working across departments and organisational boundaries.
