Job overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Modality Manager to lead our Mobile Fluoroscopy Service across the Radiology Directorate. This is a pivotal leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape and develop a high-performing service that supports surgical and interventional care across multiple sites.

You will be a visible and accessible leader, responsible for operational delivery, strategic development, and professional standards. Working closely with Clinical Leads, CUOMs, and the wider Diagnostics team, you will ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care aligned with Trust values.

 

Main duties of the job

  • Operational and strategic leadership of the mobile fluoroscopy service across all sites.
  • Procurement, commissioning, and ongoing management of advanced imaging equipment.
  • Oversight of staffing, training, and service delivery to ensure high standards of patient care and safety.
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support elective surgical pathways.
  • Contribution to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for mobile fluoroscopy services across all sites.
  • Lead service development, workforce planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Manage budgets, staffing, and equipment procurement.
  • Act as Radiation Protection Supervisor and ensure compliance with IRMER17, IRR17, and COSHH.
  • Support recruitment, education, and professional development of radiographers.
  • Represent Radiology at Trust-wide and national forums.
