A Band 3 healthcare assistant post has become available in our busy diagnostic suite and out patient departments. If you want to work within a supportive and challenging environment assisting the doctors to provide care for women with a wide range of gynaecological conditions then this could be the position for you.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of the nursing team to support the department sister in the running of the unit. You will assist in the maintenance of the patient environment in terms of cleanliness, tidiness, auditing, and the restocking and ordering of supplies.
You will be expected to work as part of a team in order to assist the doctors with diagnostic procedures and facilitate the efficient running of clinics. You will required to assist in the running of specialised clinics such a our 2 week wait hysteroscopy, vulval and pelvic mass clinics, our colposcopy clinics supporting clinicians carry out treatments following abnormal smears and our general gynaecology clinics that include urogynaecology and endometriosis clinics. This role covers a wide variety of services within women’s health

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will be part of the nursing team to support the department sister in the running of the unit. You will assist in the maintenance of the patient environment in terms of cleanliness, tidiness, auditing, and the restocking and ordering of supplies. You will be part of the team also supporting our Pre op assessment nurses to carry out assessments on our patients that fit certain criteria following out patient hysteroscopy being booked for general anaesthetic
As a member of the team be able to prioritise and contribute to the delivery of high standards of care to patients, families and their carers in a safe and supportive environment under the direction of a registered practitioner. As part of the wider team assist in developing and maintaining services provided to patients and contribute to the safe, efficient and smooth running of the ward/clinical area/department. To maintain
the dignity and privacy of all patients and their families and carers and respect their right to confidentiality.

- Venepuncture competency
- Care Certificate
- Good command of the English language
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of ongoing development
- Experience of working with patients with complex medical and social history
- EPR proficiency
