Job overview

South Central Fleet Services is seeking a detail‑driven and highly organised Compliance & Governance Administrator to strengthen the operational governance of our fleet and support services. This strategic administrative role ensures that critical compliance, audit, and reporting processes run effectively, supporting the organisation’s ability to maintain safe, legally compliant and high‑performing fleet operations.

Working closely with the Head of Compliance & Governance, you will help ensure the integrity, accuracy, and availability of information that underpins decision‑making, regulatory assurance, and operational performance across the department.

Main duties of the job

1.       Enable departmental governance processes by supporting the smooth and efficient running of all compliance and audit administration

2.       Maintain and manage core compliance data, including audit records, investigation documentation, statutory equipment compliance, and fleet information using databases, spreadsheets, vehicle records and the KEY2 system

3.       Administer Datix files relating to Fleet and Operational Support Services, ensuring incidents and associated actions are accurately recorded and managed.%

4.       Act as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, managing enquiries and providing information that supports audit, governance and operational activity

5.       Support organisation‑wide audit preparedness by ensuring documentation—such as gate checks, workshop audits, logistics and equipment records—is accurately maintained and available for internal and external scrutiny.

6.       Safeguard the organisation’s data compliance by managing records in line with the Data Protection Act, FOI requirements, and Caldicott principles

7.       Contribute to risk and governance processes by escalating identified risks, issues or breaches to senior management

8.       Support functional resilience through flexible contribution to wider departmental tasks and administrative duties as operationally required.
