Are you passionate about positively impacting the wellbeing of patients, service providers, service users, and staff within the Community?

If so, we have an opening for you to join the Admin Team at Wallingford Community Hospital.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Receptionist/Admin Assistant. In this role, you will support the efficient functioning of our community hospital facilities, working closely with a dedicated team to ensure seamless operations. Your contributions will be vital to our mission of providing exceptional administration support to our community.

Please note interviews will be held face-to-face at the Wallingford Centre.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide a polite and welcoming reception service to hospital visitors, ensuring smooth and efficient running of the reception area 
  • Respond promptly to queries, manage phone calls, and handle referrals within team guidelines 
  • Perform various administrative tasks including responding to emails, taking and recording messages, filing, photocopying, and scanning, while adhering to Trust procedures and protocols 
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of databases and computer systems used, ensuring accurate reflection of hospital activity, including competence on the electronic patient record system (EMIS) 
  • Manage incoming mail (both electronic and post), date stamp, distribute, and redirect as required in line with service guidelines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel.
  • Self motivation and the ability to work independently, while also demonstrating initiative and suggesting improvements to the service.
