Job overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Digital Project Manager to lead and support the delivery of complex digital transformation projects across Powys Teaching Health Board. This role will play a key part in planning, coordinating and implementing digital initiatives from business case development through to successful operational delivery, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

The post holder will work collaboratively with senior digital leaders, clinical teams, operational services and external partners to support effective stakeholder engagement, communication, change management and benefits realisation, ensuring digital solutions are successfully embedded and deliver measurable improvements for patients, staff and services.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is proactive, collaborative and passionate about using digital technology to improve health and care services across Powys.

Main duties of the job

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Digital Project Manager to join the Digital Transformation Team.

The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter, with effective organisation and project management skills enabling them to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously. A confident communicator with a keen eye for detail, they are able to confidently discuss complex information in an understandable way. They will be resilient, motivated, enthusiastic and willing to take initiative to ensure they succeed in their project goals.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Project or Programme Management qualification or significant demonstrable experience in managing complex projects using a robust methodology
  • IQT Bronze Award Training
  • Relevant degree or equivalent gained through specific relevant experience
  • Experience of hands on delivery and management of complex full lifecycle projects ideally within the NHS or a public sector organisation
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office
  • Evidence of designing, implementing and maintaining office document control systems
  • Evidence of compiling and producing high quality professional written reports and business cases
Desirable criteria
  • IQT Silver Award Training

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with staff to implement service improvements
  • Ability to negotiate with staff/other partners and motivate stakeholders to deliver service improvement
  • Experience in leading a team

Aptitude and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to plan multiple concurrent activities, manage project team, allocate and prioritise resource, meet objectives
  • Confident communicator, able to establish relationships with staff at all levels and to work with external stakeholders
  • Strong administrative and planning skills, able to plan effectively against deadlines in order to produce timely outputs and deliverables
  • Understanding of key NHS targets and current priorities within NHS Wales
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyse, interpret and resolve issues
  • Ability to convey new requirements which may contain complex information to both technical and non-technical staff / partners / stakeholders including presentations to large groups
