Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour - £24,638 per annum.

This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2025/26 is confirmed.

Job overview

Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB) is committed to delivering excellence through continuous improvement. We have adopted the Model for Improvement as our standardised approach to Quality Improvement (QI), and we are seeking a passionate and skilled Quality Improvement Facilitator to join our team.

 In this role, you will:

  •  Deliver formal QI training sessions to staff across all levels and professions.
  • Provide one-on-one mentoring to staff undertaking QI projects, guiding them through each stage using proven methods and techniques.
  • Assist in the development of engaging training materials tailored to diverse learning needs.
  • Support the creation and implementation of project and improvement plans within the Directorate of Improvement and Transformation.

 About You
We are looking for someone who is:

  • A confident and adaptable communicator, comfortable engaging with a wide range of staff groups.
  • Passionate about quality improvement and capable of inspiring others to embrace change.
  • Experienced in delivering training and mentoring in a flexible, responsive manner.
  • Skilled in developing structured improvement plans and supporting their execution.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver a range of training sessions to all levels of staff on QI approaches and methodology.
  • Support the development of project/improvement plans for the delivery of specific projects within the Improvement and
    Transformation Team for implementation across the Health Board.
  • Support individuals and team to undertake improvement projects using robust improvement methodologies.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Degree level qualification in related field or relevant experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Bronze IQT/Introduction to Improvement Award or equivalent
  • Understanding of model for improvement, process redesign and change management
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
Desirable criteria
  • Silver IQT/Improvement in Practice Award or equivalent
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of current NHS performance and service improvement initiatives and targets

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of either Quality Improvement, project management, service transformation or remodelling of services
  • Experience of delivering presentations
  • Experience of developing and delivering training
  • Experience of managing change
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working in an improvement project environment and evaluation
  • Experience in leading and managing improvement initiatives/ projects and delivering identified benefits
  • Experience of training and staff support in development
  • Experience of working within the NHS
  • Experience of ensuring active staff participation in transformation/ improvement initiatives
