This post is Fixed Term for 2 years due to funding.
A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional individual to be appointed as a GP Regional Lead (0.1 - 0.2 WTE).
The role will provide regional clinical leadership for the Primary Care and Community Research Delivery Centre, Health and Care Research Wales’ primary and community research delivery programme.
The post holder will require excellent communication skills, have a positive and flexible approach to the needs of the Service, be motivated, ready for the next challenge and enjoy working as part of a very busy team.
The post may close early if sufficient applications are received.
Main duties of the job
These will include:
· helping to deliver plans to support and develop multi agency working aimed at supporting the expansion and enhancement of clinical research across Wales.
· be responsible for supporting the development and deployment of new models of research delivery and care pathways which bring research services closer to home, increase focus on prevention and wellbeing and integration of public sector services.
· be responsible for supporting the development of the “One Wales Model.”
· providing medical investigator support to primary and secondary care trials

- Must be or have been a practising GP
- Clinical Governance

- Significant Organisational change experience/managing difficult and complex change
- A track record of achievement in effective performance management
- A track record of achievement in introducing robust systems and processes
- A track record of achievement in facilitation of groups.
- Undertaking sensitive negotiation
- Successful initiation and Facilitation of strategic partnership working and alliances
- A good understanding of the health and social care management environment in Wales and of roles and responsibilities within it
- Appropriate knowledge and experience in the field of research and development
- A good understanding of national targets
- A good understanding of performance management methodology
