This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate pan Powys service supporting women with moderate to severe mental health illness during the perinatal period.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic , clinically competent mental health nurse to join our team.
The post holder will work closely with members of the multidisciplinary team and other multiagency professionals across the county to provide evidence based advice, assessment , care and intervention, for women and their families during the perinatal period.
This job offers the chance to work autonomously within a supportive team, where there will be opportunities for personal and professional development, whilst also supporting the ongoing development of the service.
Main duties of the job
The Perinatal Mental Health (PNMH) Nurse will work clinically and
collaboratively alongside key professionals to oversee and ensure specialist clinical assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care in the community for women with PNMH services and their families. Influential in promoting mental health wellbeing, demonstrating enhanced competence in complex, clinical assessment, decision making, and the management of clinical needs. There will be times when decision making will require timely and responsive intervention to manage risk.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Develop and provide specialist clinical Perinatal pathways in secondary care mental health, in line with national and local agendas.
Oversee current clinical pathways in Local Primary Mental Health Support Services and partner agencies to ensure seamless access to care and treatment. Ensure that demand is met by the most appropriately skilled Clinical Practitioners and to ensure that pathways of care are seamless and according to patient need.Promote a culture based on principles of recovery, choice, and personalised care, in which the mothers and key supports, where agreed, are actively involved in decision-making about their care and treatment. Work in an effective partnership with, the Specialist Perinatal Team Lead, the Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychological Therapies and Midwifery, Children and
family services thus providing a strong multi-disciplinary leadership model. Carry an individual PNMH caseload of complex clinical need and clinical risk.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Experience of working with women experiencing perinatal mental health needs/knowledge of demographic risk factors for this client group Experience of clinically assessing, planning, co-ordinating and managing people with mental health problems in a community setting Evidence of extensive post registration experience working with adults experiencing mental health related difficulties Excellent understanding of the interface between physical and mental health needs

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Qualified / Registered Mental Health Nurse BSc degree in Nursing and/or Diploma HE Nursing Mental Health Evidence of professional updating and development in the delivery services Qualification including for example EMDR, CBT, Family Interventions, CAT, DBT, Phlebotomy
Desirable criteria
- Non– medical prescriber Qualification in providing training
Aptitudes & Abilities
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of various approaches to mental health assessment Understanding of GAD7, PHQ9, CAARMS, Psychosocial interventions, PANNS, SWEMWBS, Lunders, GASS, EPDS Knowledge of care co-ordination Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance
- Ability to organise, prioritise and monitor own and others workload Ability to contribute to staff training and development Ability to communicate and work effectively with service users, carers, other agencies and professionals Ability to involve service users and carers in service delivery, service evaluation and service development Ability to manage change and contribute to the development of services Ability to contribute to the development of service policies and strategies
