Job overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our South West Shropshire Locality Therapy Team, based with our Community Therapists.
This post is an ideal opportunity for newly qualified Occupational Therapists or those who are seeking to widen their career, with opportunities for rotations.

Main duties of the job
Employed by SCHT, the post holder will have opportunities to rotate across The Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin ICS. This includes Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH); Robert Jones Agnes Hunt (RJAH); Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust (SCHT) and Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT). This will allow exposure to a variety of settings increasing your skills and knowledge base and support you to explore where your career might take you.
You must be able to meet the travel requirements of the job.

Essential criteria
- Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current registration with HCPC.
- Evidence of clinical experience.
Experience
Essential criteria
- A range of clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist/ student including rehabilitation/ care of the elderly.
- Experience of working in multi-disciplinary / multi-agency teams.
- Experience working with therapy assistants.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- Ongoing awareness of recent developments in practice and research including NSF’s/NICE guidelines.
- Understanding of clinical governance and risk management and their implications for the service.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Effective communication within the team.
