To provide a high-quality reception and administration service, appropriate to that expected in a primary dental care practice across all Community Dental Service (CDS) sites.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job

  • To act as a first and central point of contact for all enquiries to the site, answering queries and providing accurate information, advice and sign posting to individuals both in person and on the telephone.    
  • To use the electronic patient record system, for booking appointments which includes making bookings for clinics at other CDS locations. 
  • To deal face to face with dental emergencies, patients experiencing dental access difficulties and patients with special needs. 
  • To collect any NHS charges and fees along with banking of money collected and completion of documentation to comply with standing financial instructions.

Essential criteria
  • Educated to NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration/Customer Service or equivalent experience
  • Good standard of education.
  • Experience in providing a high-quality reception service

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of dealing with a wide range of people (public/staff)
  • Experience of using routine administrative procedures.

Knowldedge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good organisational skills; self-starter and able to use initiative appropriately with only limited supervision.
  • Ability to use initiative, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with all enquiries to the service.
  • Computer literate

  • Able to meet the travel requirement of the post.
