The role involves working in partnership with parents, children, educators and colleagues throughout health, to deliver service innovation and improvement and includes the opportunity to continue your clinical career, providing clinical care for children as an expert generalist therapist or in your clinical speciality.
As a successful applicant you will have highly developed clinical decision-making skills to support children’s assessment and care management. You will be confident in working in a flexible and responsive way.

Main duties of the job
The post holder offers dynamic leadership and management of the Paediatric Physiotherapy team to ensure a responsive, efficient and effective service of a high quality.
The post holder will seek innovative and creative methods of utilising the resources available while remaining focussed on service development.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy.
- Physiotherapy registration with the Health Professions Council.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development including specialist training and practical experience to postgraduate diploma level or equivalent.
- Health Service management within a health or care setting through a combination of in depth experience and training.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Extensive post graduate experience of which at least a significant proportion of the time has been in Community Paediatric Physiotherapy.
- Successful track record as an effective leader/team manager in health, social care or related environment.
- Demonstrate innovation and creativity to redesign and develop services.
- Experience of working in a multi disciplinary/multi agency health care environment.
- Experience of working in a variety of settings.
- Experience of managing and delivering in a crisis.
- Experience of planning and providing clinical care to children and young people with physiotherapy needs.
- Proven ability to integrate, build and motivate teams to deliver clear outcomes and results to improve the patient/users and families experience.
- Experience of managing resource, planning work and delegating duties within a team.
- Demonstrate development, implementation and delivery of successful service improvements informed by service users.

- Good knowledge of the processes involved in developing integrated care pathways, clinical guidelines, governance systems and risk management acquired through training and proven experience.
- Good working knowledge of safeguarding children and young people.
- Demonstrate knowledge of national policies, procedures and standards relevant to Children’s Physiotherapy.
- Knowledge of benchmarking and audit requirements to continuously develop services and improve standards of care, with an ability to evaluate clinical practice.
- A broad knowledge in a number of areas e.g. health /social care management, financial management, performance management.
- Some broad understanding/insight of NHS legislation, employment and health and safety legislation and national standards.
- Transfer acquired leadership and management skills – ability to adapt and adjust style to meet the needs of a situation.
- Management and leadership skills that enable successful change management to occur.
- Demonstrate political intelligence, influencing, engaging and collaboration skills used within a clinical setting and with external teams, organisations and partners.
- Some evidence of project management skills.
