Job overview

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to work within the Rio Electronic Patient Record Team implementing and supporting a range of digital projects. The Rio EPR Team has a broad mandate to deliver both technical and training solutions to our Services and work with other organisations to contribute to projects across Shropshire.

You will be part of a dynamic project team that will be brought together to manage and support the delivery of a range of projects.  Your area of knowledge and experience will be in project management, information and business analysis and change management; experience with IT systems integration will be a distinct advantage. You will provide leadership and technical guidance to the Rio Team and help in our business-as-usual role of supporting 1700 users with our established projects such as the Rio EPR, N365 and EBO Virtual Assistant and to support new initiatives such as Virtual Ward and Sub-Acute Ward projects.

This is a fast moving environment and you will need to be good at working on your own initiative, self-motivated and be able to prioritise your workload in order to meet the requirements of the job and the delivery timescales.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing Project Management expertise to multiple digital projects and Services.
  • Managing digital projects through the whole project lifecycle from scoping to implementation and on into business as usual and lessons learned.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Completing essential high quality documentation to support  projects and formally reporting progress where necessary.
  • Providing technical support in your area of expertise e.g. integration, SQL script writing, technical knowledge etc.
  • Working with Services and Stakeholders, both internal and external, to Shropshire Community Health.
  • Leading in meetings and workshops to define requirements and follow those requirements through to successful implementation.
  • Working through technical and project issues and problems and establishing robust solutions.
  • Providing on-going support as necessary once the projects have moved into Business as Usual.
  • Providing leadership to the whole team and following the values of the Trust.
  • Deputise for the IT Programme Manager.

Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience of managing workshops and other requirements gathering activities.
  • Extensive experience of articulating business and IT needs and relaying them to various project audiences to ensure a complete understanding of a deliverable, its capability and limitations.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with a variety of users at all levels within the organisation.
  • Experience of process mapping.
  • Experience in presenting formally to management groups.
  • Demonstrable experience of rapidly gaining understanding of more than one complex area and ability to interpret and identify relevant/improved ways of working.
  • Experience of preparing business cases.
  • Extensive experience of delivering training materials and training to help embed the product into the business as usual activities2
  • Experience of managing UAT testing and business process related issues.
  • Experience of people related project change management frameworks.
  • Proven ability to take a strategic view.
  • Expert knowledge of different project management methodologies including Agile and waterfall.

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and extract pertinent detail from low-level information / decompose high-level information, to ensure comprehensive understanding is reached.
  • Ability to understand complex processes and map them using Visio.
  • Stakeholder and matrix management skills.
  • Significant experience of analysing stakeholder objectives and the underlying issues arising from investigations into business requirements and problems and identifying options.
  • Extensive first-hand practical experience of investigating operational requirements, problems and opportunities and seeking effective business solutions.
  • Proven ability to embrace, champion and manage change and be proactive and deliver within a complex, constantly changing environment.
  • Project Management Skills.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, including a proven ability to take a strategic view and constructive problem solving approach to issues, linking plans to the overall aims and strategic objectives.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including highly developed presentation and influencing skills, using tact and diplomacy to reconcile a variety of perspectives and gain consensus.
  • Proven in-depth technical understanding of business analysis methodologies.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to relevant Degree level e.g. Degree in Information Technology, Degree in Information Science, Degree in Business Studies or NVQ Level 5 in the above subjects. OR Equivalent combination of IM&T knowledge/qualification (e.g. BTEC, HND/OND) supplemented with appropriate advanced vocational courses (e.g. AGILE, Six SIGMA, Business Analysis Certification, PRINCE2), and a number of years’ experience in a similar business environment normally associated with a Degree level qualification and have additional knowledge.
  • Demonstrable specialist knowledge and expertise in Stakeholder Engagement, Business Process Mapping, Project and Change Management.
