If your answer is yes to any of the above then we have an exciting opportunity available within our Pharmacy departments at both The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) and The Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) for a new team of specialist clinical Pharmacy Technicians to work within our Emergency Departments.
These are brand new roles within our Trust where we are looking to introduce and develop a clinical service into the Emergency Departments through the formation of a strong clinical pharmacy team at the pivotal point in the patient’s journey. We are also recruiting a team of dedicated Pharmacists to work within this team.
The successful applicant must be committed to delivering an excellent clinical pharmacy service built around the highest standards for our patients.
The applicant for the specialist role must be suitably qualified, as appropriate to the post.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Be part of a team delivering a high level of clinical Pharmacy input to the Emergency Department.
- Be part of a team that deliver a consistently high clinical Pharmacy service for the patients.
- Act as a role model for, and be responsible for developing core competencies of any Pharmacy Technician working in the emergency setting by organising their training and assessing their competency

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
- A relevant degree or NVQ 3 in Pharmaceutical Science or proven equivalent experience
- ACPT qualifcation
Desirable criteria
- Medicine Management accreditation
Previous experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in a ward based pharmacy role
- Relevant post registration experience in hospital pharmacy
- Supervision of staff
- Training experience
- Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience of working a pace, flexibly, under pressure to deadlines
Desirable criteria
- Management experience
- Experience in writing policies/guidelines
- Ability to lead projects
