Job overview

  • Are you a Band 5 physiotherapist looking for your next post?
  • Are you looking to specialise in MSK?
  • Are you a Band 6 looking for a post in a busy MSK department within an acute hospital?
  • Are you interested in MSK and wanting to develop your skills further?

The MSK transformation in Shropshire Telford and Wrekin has transformed the care of those presenting with MSK conditions across the system.  The 3 organisations; SaTH, SCHT and RJAH have worked together to implement transformed clinical care across the system.  This transformation places emphasis on Therapies and conservative management for MSK conditions resulting in a significant investment in Therapies to provide additional clinical capacity. There is a comprehensive programme of workforce development through in-service training, supervision and mentorship and support for external courses. There is clear clinical leadership and the opportunity to work alongside Advanced Practice Physiotherapists and experienced Clinical Lead Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.

This post is part of the  system wide MSK service.  This post will include the management of primary and secondary care referrals, managing both post operative and trauma management.

Main duties of the job

As a specialist band 6 physiotherapist you will be integral to leading and delivering MSK services at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust. You will have a varied caseload of both consultant and GP referrals consisting of upper, lower limb and spinal conditions with the opportunity to gain experience in OPD MSK clinics, fracture clinics,  and hand therapy.

We have a team of experienced Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and Advanced Practice Physiotherapists in A and E, Fracture clinic and Orthopaedic clinics who are integral to the team.

The department is involved in research projects and has close links with HEI's providing clinical placements for undergraduate students.  We are committed to allocated CPD time, clinical outcomes and providing a responsive patient focused service.

Working for our organisation

Within out patients we have a very experienced team including band 5 to band 8B therapists and support workers from band 2 - 4.
