Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced radiographer to join our team at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals. The position is open to those already fully or part trained in an element of plain film reporting and for those that would need training. The post is for the reporting for Chest and abdomen and MSK plain film imaging.
The post holder should demonstrate innovation and passion around delivering a quality service. They must be dynamic in adapting to the ever changing demands on our services in addition to supporting and developing the skillset of the advanced practice and radiology teams.
Please note this post may include working cross site.
SaTH has state of the art imaging equipment installed in 2020, including dedicated reporting hubs and facilities.
The post holder must have extensive post-qualification experience including working in an NHS hospital and have a current Visa to work in the UK.
If the post holder is to commence training with SaTH and is not already an advanced practitioner they will be employed under a training contract. Please see separate PS document for further understanding.
Main duties of the job
- The primary purpose of the role is to carry out general modality imaging reporting in a supervised capacity until signed off for autonomous practice.
- To train to undertake image interpretation and reporting using highly specialist knowledge of the pathology and differential diagnoses for MSK and chest and abdomen Imaging.
- Provide high quality, comprehensively written reports.
- Maintain general modality Imaging skills and competency including any other areas of clinical expertise.
- Independently prioritise patients and organise the workload from a variety of referral pathways to meet the needs of the service.
- Directly provide practical training, supervision and assessment of under-graduates, postgraduates and radiology registrars in training.
- Participate in research, audit, and CPD.
- To actively participate in the organisation of CPD lectures.
- To participate in the Radiology 7-day rota.
- To promote best practice, education, and delivery of standards.

All Radiographers with more than 1 year post graduate experience contribute to the training and mentorship of undergraduate students and the department has an excellent on site teaching environment. The department is fully committed to role extension and has practicing Radiographers undertaking Ultrasound, Barium Swallows, CT Colonoscopies and plain film reporting.

- BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
- Current HCPC registration.
- Post Grad Cert Image Reportin
Desirable criteria
- Undergraduate BSc Diagnostic Radiography
Experience

- Demonstration of competence Image Reporting (Audit)
- IR(ME)R 2017
- IRR17 Regulations
