This is a great opportunity for a qualified Associate Audiologist to work in a forward thinking department and have great support in developing themselves further.
This Band 5 post is being advertised at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals with a proposed base at The Princess Royal Hospital.
Shropshire Audiology provides services for a population of 500.000 people where we see approximately 60,000 people in a year. We are proud to be able to offer a range of services to our patients such as, Adult Hearing Aid work; ENT support; Paediatric Audiology; the Shropshire Implant Service; Hearing Therapy and Rehabilitation clinics; Tinnitus and Hyperacusis and Balance.
Shropshire NHS Audiology is IQIPS accredited, so monitoring quality and developing our service is high on our agenda, we expect the post holder to be passionate about clinical quality. Our service has a strong record of staff development, we believe that it is important to invest in our staff.
Main duties of the job
- To undertake routine adult audiological procedures, including direct referrals from the GP and reassessment of existing hearing aid patients.
- Our department serves a rural population so the post holder would be expected to travel to our Audiology community sites and home visits in Shropshire.
Shropshire Audiology believes strongly in multidisciplinary working for the benefit of the patient, this role will involve work with ENT, Social Services, local volunteer groups, education. - To undertake fitting of digital hearing aids and provide patients with appropriate counselling and rehabilitation including individual management plans.
- To work autonomously, with regard to good/best practice codes and guidelines. To have excellent communication skills and able to manage own time effectively and use own initiative to manage caseload.

Essential criteria
- BSc in Audiology or equivalent qualification
- RCCP or HCP registered
Desirable criteria
- Dementia or Sight loss training
Experience
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of all standard adult audiological test procedures and rehabilitation
Desirable criteria
- Experience of using Auditbase
Communication and relationship skills

- Excellent written communication skills
