Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our Stroke, Rehabilitation Team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. 

We are looking for a physiotherapist to join our team who has Stroke and/or Neurology clinical experience, is flexible, has good time management skills and works well in a team as well as independently. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder would support and appraise Band 5's and Therapy Support Worker staff. This post holder would be expected to mentor students by being a practice educator linked with the Universities.

Occasionally the post holder will be required to support their medical therapy colleagues with the care of patients with stroke or other neurological conditions on the acute wards.

The successful post holder will be required to join the respiratory on-call rota.

We are delighted to be able to offer patients who have had a stroke the opportunity of assessment and treatment by the Stroke and Rehabilitation Therapy Team over the weekend and Bank Holidays and this post holder would be expected to participate in the 7-day working rota for this.

Our team is able to support patients along the Stroke care pathway from hyper acute and acute stroke wards to home,

The team have a robust supervision structure and a strong drive for personal and professional development across all bands and roles facilitating events within the team, department, Trust and externally to enable the best possible care is delivered to patients.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
  • Registered with Health and Care Professions Council
  • Evidence of specialist clinical training in relevant areas

Experience

  • Evidence of broad range of pre and post qualification experience
  • Evidence of experience in relevant area of clinical practice
  • Evidence of teaching/ student experience
  • Experience in audit and research
  • Previous NHS experience

Skills
