This permanent post is a rare opportunity for a clinician to work in the friendly, enthusiastic, innovative, supportive and experienced  Banes Early Intervention team. 

BANES Early Intervention Team is a small multi-professional team working across CAMHS and Adult Mental Health Services, providing care for people aged 14-64, presenting to mental health services, often for the first time. The post involves using psychosocial interventions and working with people experiencing a first episode psychosis/ bipolar. You will work closely with carers and families. The service is part of an AWPs Trust-wide 6 Early Intervention Services, with strong links to the Southwest and national networks.

We are forward thinking, delivering NICE-approved, evidence based interventions; including CBT for psychosis, family work, occupational and vocational advice/interventions, physical health monitoring and interventions,  alongside pharmacological interventions . In addition, all team members are involved in the facilitation  of social, activity, and carer’s support/education groups and delivery of training across our catchment area.

We are seeking someone who is committed to team working, enthusiastic and passionate about early intervention in psychosis and  in providing excellent care for service users  You must be an brilliant communicator, have a flexible approach to your work with a good knowledge base of the principles of Early Intervention in Psychosis.

Main duties of the job

To use the specialist CAARMS assessment to identify   people  presenting with  symptoms of  possible psychosis.

To plan and implement specialist programmes of care for  people following the first appearance of psychosis, including carrying a specialist caseload of clients and acting as a key worker.

To liaise and work in collaboration with other agencies in planning and assessing specialised care.

To co-facilitate social and therapeutic groups.

To co-deliver educational groups to service users, other teams and the wider public.

To provide specialist advice to service users, carers and professionals. 

To develop awareness sessions around psychosis and early intervention to be delivered within education and youth services. 

To provide clinical supervision to junior staff and students. 

To undertake audit, research and development activities.

To maintain work to a standard that maintains the teams high performance (key performance indicators and NCAP)
