Are you a Pharmacy Technician with aseptic experience, newly registered, soon to register, GPhC‑registered Technician looking to progress in an acute hospital? If so, this could be your next step.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Aseptic Services Unit at the Royal United Hospitals Bath and take an active role in the day‑to‑day organisation of our Aseptic Services, including Chemotherapy and Radiopharmacy.
You’ll work closely with pharmacists, chemotherapy nurses, and the nuclear medicine team to schedule daily workloads and support the safe preparation of chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, and radiopharmaceuticals - all in accordance with SOPs and GMP.
Teamwork is essential, as you’ll supervise, motivate, and guide staff to deliver a consistently high‑quality service. You’ll be central to maintaining efficient workflows while responding to clinical priorities and urgent demands.

Main duties of the job
Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and scheduling the daily programme of work within the ASU
- Supervising and actively participating in aseptic dispensing
- Ensuring all activities meet required quality, safety, and regulatory standards
- Liaising with pharmacists, nurses, and nuclear medicine colleagues
- Supporting and contributing to staff training and development
- Assisting the Lead Aseptic Services Technician with operational leadership

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPHC
- Pre and in process checking or willing to undertake
Desirable criteria
- Training in aseptic services eg TSET, PTQA, APDM
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working as a pharmacy technician in aseptic services
- Knowledge of GMP
- Principles of Aseptic dispensing
- Knowledge of the principles of Quality Assurance
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working in an unlicensed unit
- Radiopharmacy experience

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
