The Royal United Hospitals Bath Paediatric Psychology department is delighted to announce the opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join our team on a fixed term basis to cover a maternity leave. This is a diverse and varied role working across General Paediatrics. Paediatric Oncology and Tuberous Sclerosis.

The successful candidate will enjoy having a varied caseload and working in a diverse role using different psychological models and approaches. The presentations vary and may involve complex presentations requiring systemic work with MDT teams or families. However, this is balanced with less complex presentations which respond well to 1:1 brief CBT/ACT interventions.  

The ideal candidate  will enjoy the challenge of building new services and developing interventions for patient care. We welcome innovative and imaginative ideas, which work within a busy hospital environment.

 The job is advertised as fixed term, however ongoing opportunities may be available. We welcome discussions around part-time or flexible working. We are committed to staff wellbeing and supporting each other and value peer support. The RUH site has a number of outside green spaces and an on-site outdoor swimming pool available to staff.

Funding for this role is available until January 2025.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

To provide a Clinical Psychology service for children and families under the care of General Paediatrics, Paediatric Oncology and Tuberous Sclerosis at the Royal United Hospital. (RUH). 

  1. To develop, deliver and evaluate sustainable psychology services to these specialties.
  1. To work closely and effectively with the multi professional clinical teams, to promote psychologically informed patient care.
  1. To provide supervision, training and support to staff teams to share psychological knowledge and promote resilience and self-care.
  1. To participate in research, audit and service development to enhance the quality of the service received by patients, and to evaluate the benefits and effectiveness of the psychology service.
  1. To work collaboratively as a member of the Psychology team to promote psychological ways of working at the RUH.
