Join us at an exciting time for the Intensive Care Unit, Royal United Hospital Bath.  We have an ambitious plan for our journey to Outstanding and are looking for aspirational, committed individuals to join us, making a real difference to both our staff and patients.

Intensive Care offers an interesting, challenging and rewarding specialism with opportunities to enhance your knowledge and clinical skills, whilst providing excellent nursing care.  We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurses to become apart of multidisciplinary team.  

Our Band 5 pathway includes:

  • A 6 week supernumerary period (including induction and orientation day)
  • Progression through the Nationally recognised ‘Critical Care Steps’ Competency Framework
  • A comprehensive education package including the Foundations in Critical Care Course.
  • On-going continuous professional development is facilitated by a Clinical Nurse Educators. 

About the unit:

We are dedicated to providing care for critically ill patients from across a range of medical and surgical specialties. We have recently moved into our brand-new purpose-built, state of the art unit with ceiling mounted pendants, positive and negative pressure side rooms which maximises safety for staff and patients and have an excellent development programme for all staff that work within ICU.

Main duties of the job

To provide specialist nursing care for patients and their families within the Intensive Care environment, in accordance with the NMC code of professional conduct and Trust policies and procedures.  To provide high standards of evidence-based patient centered care and to work with the team to maintain the efficient running of the Unit, while developing skills in this area.
