The trainee will follow a three-year training programme encompassing theory and practical experience working towards a BSc degree in Healthcare Science (specialising in Nuclear Medicine). Practical training will be in a team of senior technologists (part of the multidisciplinary provision of clinical Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT service at the Royal United Hospital). Academic training will be provided by the University of the West of England via block release and protected study time.

We're pleased to announce this rare and exciting opportunity to join our friendly, dedicated Nuclear Medicine team (part of the Department of Medical Physics and Bioengineering) as an apprentice Clinical Technologist.
We are a regional centre of excellence for Nuclear Medicine - our department is well equipped with state of the art technology including our own PET-CT Scanner as well as two SPECT/CT gamma cameras and in-vitro counting facilities. The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of the service throughout their apprenticeship with ample opportunity for research and development project work.
Applicants should be numerate, computer literate and have two science A-levels (or equivalent). As part of the apprenticeship, you will undertake a professionally accredited BSc (Hons) Degree qualification in Healthcare Science (Medical Physics Technology) and upon successful completion of the apprenticeship be eligible for entry on the professional register for clinical technologists (RCT). This post will be commencing September 2024.

- A-level (C or above) in Chemistry or Biology
- A level pass in one other science subject
- GCSE Maths and English (at least grade C or 6)
