PET CT Service Manager

Job overview

We are looking for a registered Radiographer or Clinical Technologist to join as a PET CT Service Manager . In this role you will provide a managerial and highly specialist technical service role to the Trust in order to deliver a safe, highly specialised diagnostic patient service.

You will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the PET CT service team and will be the point of contact for the PET admin team and Nuclear Medicine staff who may have clinical queries.

You'll work closely with the Service Manager of Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT, the Head of Nuclear Medicine, Technologists and Radiographers in PET and the PET admin team.

Responsibility also includes being the lead trainer in PET CT and being responsible for ensuring the team has been adequately trained in their duties, including use of equipment, handling radioactive material and basic life support as well providing appropriate structured training for new staff or trainees in the field of PET CT. 

This is a part time role of 22.5 hours a week; ideally split over 3 days a week.

There is a need to be part of the clinical team twice a week, with one day a week dedicated to admin work relating to managing the service.

We're looking for an individual who has a flexible work ethic to ensure smooth running of the service throughout its operational hours Monday to Friday.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Service Manager is responsible for supporting the management of the day to day PETCT service. This includes arranging staff rotas, patient bookings, radiopharmaceutical provision, patient administrations, daily equipment QC and equipment selection Management of the service includes continuous improvement and development of the service through the quality system, which is registered to ISO 9001:2000.

The post holder has responsibility for the day-to-day management of the PETCT service team. The post holder is the lead trainer in PETCT and is responsible for ensuring the team has been adequately trained in their duties including use of equipment, handling radioactive material and basic life support as well providing appropriate structured training for new staff or trainees in the field of PETCT. This role will work closely with the Service Lead for Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT, the Head of Nuclear Medicine, Technologists and Radiographers in PET and the PET admin team.

The post holder must be a registered Radiographer or Clinical Technologist.
