An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part time Consultant in Orthodontics (2.5 PAs) to join the existing OMFS and Orthodontics service based at the Royal United Hospitals, Bath. This position is to support and reinforce the existing team of consultants.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide a full range of Orthodontic care as part of an established multidisciplinary team.

The main duties of the post involve undertaking outpatient clinics for new and follow-up patients with supervision of junior staff as appropriate as well as orthodontic treatment of complex malocclusions in collaboration with other specialities such as Maxillofacial, Oral Surgery and Restorative Dentistry The department is fully supported by a maxillofacial laboratory with access to digital planning software and 3D printing technology.

In this role you will provide, to a high standard, the full range of specialist diagnosis, treatment and care to patients who need orthodontic services. The post holder must demonstrate excellent attention to detail in all aspects of clinical and managerial work as well as being a strong clinical lead for trainees. The holder of this post will be a Consultant Orthodontist. All Consultants contribute to the general Orthodontic workload.

 The post will be based at the RUH Bath. The holder will participate in audit and directorate meetings and undertake administrative duties as required by the Lead Clinician of OMFS & Orthodontics.

A commitment to maintain professional expertise by attendance at meetings and courses is expected, and completion of diaries for CPD is essential.  It is also essential that you have an annual appraisal.

Attendance at, and organisation of, meetings is mandatory (MDT, departmental and governance).
