Job overview

In this exciting opportunity, you will be a key member of the Paediatric Diabetes Team and will work alongside consultants and key stakeholders to assist with the implementation of processes and projects that support the future goals and expectations of the Paediatric Diabetes Service.

The Paediatric Diabetes Team Administrator will provide support and high level administration to the Team by managing day to day tasks such as maintaining the Diamond patient database and other Trust information systems, tracking patient progress, producing reports and supporting the team with the production of documentation and processes as required

You will  support, facilitate and monitor the delivery, within budget and to agreed timescales, the Best Practice Tariff (BPT).

Main duties of the job

  • Taking telephone calls and prioritising when liaising with clinical staff
  • Competent with IT including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office and writing letters
  • Organising patient clinic appointments
  • Minute taking for team meetings and preparing agendas for these meetings
  • Collating BPT figures and supporting audit research
  • Ordering of insulin pumps and consumables for patients and liaising with these companies

  • Experience of producing correspondence to a consistently accurate and professional standard

  • Experience of working in paediatrics
  • Knowledge of Type 1 Diabetes
