Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to join our growing team of Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians. The post holders will be involved in a broad range of activities in the Aseptic Services Unit of the Pharmacy, which will be the primary base. 

The purpose of this role is:

  • To be responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the Aseptic Services Unit (ASU); Chemotherapy and Radio pharmacy.
  • To supervise the day to day activities of the rotational and permanent technical staff working in the ASU.
  • To ensure that all staff conform to required standard of Quality Assurance and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and work in accordance with validated and approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times
  • To participate in the aseptic dispensing of chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, parenteral nutrition and radiopharmaceuticals.
  • To assist the Lead Aseptic Services Technician in the training of all staff working in the ASU.

Candidates must have NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent plus accredited underpinning knowledge (BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent) OR Science Manufacturing Technician Qualification (SMT).
