Job overview

The Trust is committed to supporting clinicians in developing and improving patient services and is seeking to recruit a full time Quality Assurance Officer to join the Quality Assurance and Clinical Audit Team.  You will be responsible for providing clinical audit support and advice, working with clinical teams in actively delivering quality improvements through the clinical audit process.

This is a varied role and you will be part of the wider Quality Improvement Centre Team based in the Quality Improvement Centre. The Quality Improvement Centre includes both clinical and non-clinical staff working in patient safety, risk management, quality improvement, clinical audit and patient experience.

If you feel passionate about wanting to make a difference and improve patient care, we would love to hear from you. This is a permanent post which allows for flexible working arrangements.  For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Rob Eliot, Head of Quality Assurance, email [email protected] tel 01225 821430.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is a member of the Quality Assurance and Clinical Audit Team providing clinical audit support to the Divisions and also to the delivery of Quality Improvement projects. The post holder will provide support in monitoring the progress of audits undertaken in the Divisions, including oversight of national audits, and updating the Clinical Audit Department database to reflect progress.

The post holder is also a member of the Quality Improvement Centre and will, as required, provide support to other key quality improvement and patient safety initiatives such as the EXcEL Ward and Outpatient Accreditation Programme, NCEPOD studies, NICE guidance and work programmes that provide assurance against the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulatory requirements.

Within the Quality Improvement Centre, the post holder will also support and in the absence of the Quality Assurance and Risk Business Analyst confidently administer Admin functions of the risk management system including set up and maintenance of user profiles and review of quality of incident and risk data submitted on to the risk management system. The post holder will also support the distribution and assignment of alerts from the Central Alerting System.
