Applications are invited for a Consultant Radiologist to join a friendly, forward-thinking team of 30 Consultant Radiologists at the Royal United Hospital Bath;
· Consultant Radiologist with specialist interest in Cardiothoracic imaging (10 PAs).
The post is full time but anyone wishing to work part time is also encouraged to apply. The post includes participation in the evening and weekend and on call rota.

Main duties of the job
This is a new post due to expansion of the radiology department and in particular cardiothoracic imaging services and research. In addition to a cardiothoracic radiology specialist interest the candidate must possess skills, particularly cross-sectional, applicable to a general department. There is an established cardiac CT service which has grown exponentially in recent years, with an established and expanding cardiac MRI service. Bath is a satellite tertiary pulmonary hypertension service working with the Royal Free seeing approximately 135 new referrals a year. The appointee will help develop the cardiothoracic radiology service at the RUH. An interest in lung cancer diagnosis and intervention and interstitial lung disease are also desirable to help improve lung cancer outcomes in the catchment area and support the ILD service.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GMC recognised general medical qualification.
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
- FRCR
- Be on the Specialist Register, or ideally within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview
Desirable criteria
- Level 2 or 3 Cardiac CT certification (BSCI, SCCT or equivalent)
- Level 2 or 3 Cardiac MRI certification (SCMR, EACVI or equivalent)
Skills
Essential criteria
- Fully accredited clinical radiologist on GMC specialist register
- Thoracic imaging experience, particularly lung cancer & intervention and ILD
- Extensive current general radiological practice and ability appropriate to a district general hospital environment, including general on-call skills
- Fully motivated in contributing to general and specialised work in the department and in maintaining a high standard of personal development
Desirable criteria
- Cardiac CT imaging experience
- Cardiothoracic imaging fellowship
- Experience in pulmonary hypertension imaging

Management and administration
