Consultant Radiologist with Specialist Interest in  Diagnostic Neuroradiology (10 PA’s) - for a substantive Consultant Diagnostic Neuroradiologist to meet the increased in demand for imaging services via both the RUH and CDC workstreams, in particular neuroradiology. The post holder will also be involved in MDT working including attendance at regular neuroradiology and stroke clinicoradiological meetings. The postholder will help develop the existing multiple sclerosis service within the Trust.

The post is full time but anyone wishing to work part time is also encouraged to apply. The post includes participation in the evening and weekend and on-call rota. Outsourcing is used for most cross-sectional emergency work performed after 2000, 7 days a week.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will contribute to the general radiology work of the Department (Hot reporting, Ultrasound, the acute imaging service) in conjunction with the other Radiologists all of whom also perform regular sessions in general radiology. The post holder must also have and maintain skills for general radiology on call. The post holder is required to participate in out of hours and on-call duties (1 in 20 rota). 
A commitment to maintain professional expertise by attendance at meetings and courses is expected. The appointee will be expected to arrange an annual appraisal.
 An interest in research and teaching is expected with participation in projects, courses, etc. to enhance the standing and role of the Department and Trust.
Attendance at, and organisation of relevant meetings is expected. 
The post holder may be expected to cover for colleagues when absent.
