Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly Outpatient Booking Team at the Royal United Hospitals Bath.
If you have great customer service, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills this could be the role for you.
You will be part of the team booking and rescheduling a whole range of outpatient appointments, as well as other administrative tasks needed to ensure patients experience high quality care at this first stage of their pathway.
We are seeking people who can be flexible, adaptable and able to work well under pressure. You will work alongside members of the Call Handling Team and all other colleagues within the department.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who can provide a professional, compassionate and comprehensive service to our patients. Excellent attention to detail and previous customer service experience would be beneficial.
Main duties includes:
Receiving and making calls to patients in a professional and courteous manner, taking action and providing information as appropriate.
Provide general non-clinical advice regarding outpatient appointments to
patients and their carers
Maximise clinic utilisation, ensuring patients are booked according to the
timescales within the Trust Effective Management of Waiting Lists Policy.
Submit data to the Clinic Coordinator Manager for the weekly meeting,
identifying potential issues with capacity.
Ensure patients are booked according to the priority identified by the GP
and/or consultant.
Register and accurately record outpatient referrals within 24 hours of receipt in the Trust.
