Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Vascular Studies Unit at The Royal United Hospitals Bath.

The Vascular Studies Unit performs non-invasive investigations on patients' arteries and veins to assess their circulation. This helps the medical teams responsible for patient care diagnose their condition and plan any necessary treatment or onward specialist referrals.

You will be part of a core team with a diverse role which will include the delivery of Peripheral Arterial Disease vascular assessments, personal care to patients, and supporting the Vascular Consultant, Clinical Nurse Specialist and Scientist clinics.

You will work under the guidance of healthcare professionals such as Clinical Vascular Scientists.  Previous health care experience is highly advantageous. Manual dexterity and ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential.

If you have a caring and compassionate nature, and good communication, organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team, we would love to hear from you.

Assist nurses and medical staff with sterile procedures and the removal/application of standard and compression dressings as required

Carry out ABPI and TBPI assessments for the assessment of peripheral arterial disease

Assist the Vascular Consultant with the delivery of varicose vein treatment lists including preparing the room and equipment, and addressing individual patient needs  during the procedure.
