Job overview

We are currently looking to recruit a fourth Housekeeping Supervisor who is able to motivate individuals to undertake the cleaning within the hospital, provide our inpatient service users with food and beverages at mealtimes and help to maintain a high standard of food and hygiene standards to our sites and departments.

Main duties of the job

As part of a small supervisory team to support and lead day to day housekeeping and linen service teams both at Blackberry Hill Hospital, Avon Valley Hub, St. Ann's, Speedwell and Whittucks Road.

As part of a team, ensuring high standards of cleaning are maintained in line with the National Specifications for Cleanliness in the NHS, thereby ensuring that the hospital is clean and fit for healthcare.

To work as an integral part of the Facilities Team ensuring a high-quality service to Service Users.

To support ward staff in the delivery of protected patient mealtimes.

To ensure the provision of a hospital linen service to all wards and departments.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

1.     To participate in and undertake regular Audits relating to the Cleaning Specifications/Schedules.

2.     To act as site contact for pest control issues, liaising with the contractor and to maintain records, ensuring that the Hotel Services Manager is aware of related issues.

3.     To undertake housekeeping duties as necessary.

4.     Always maintain client and staff confidentiality.

5.     To always maintain client and staff privacy and dignity.

6.     Liaise with the Assistant Support Services Business Manager and / or Senior Hotel Services Supervisor, team colleagues, Ward Managers and other ward staff, departmental staff, or other agencies as required or requested by the Assistant Support Services Business Manager.

7.     Demonstrate effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

8.     Demonstrate an awareness of the need for sensitivity, tolerance and impartiality.
